It All Happens (To Go Downhill From) Here: The Kansas City Royals

(Alternate Title: How to Beat a Dead Horse with a Keyboard)

Once upon a time, the Kansas City Royals were the class act of baseball. A consistent, winning ballclub with a group of great players, a beautiful stadium, and a fantastic fanbase.

Fast forward to 2010, and it's something akin to I Am Legend. The stadium still stands, as pristine as ever, but it's almost devoid of life. The players who do inhabit it, are for the most part, hardly even qualified major leaguers.

Minnesota Twins Part Ways with a Fan Favorite

The Twins have officially parted ways with one of the most popular figures of the last decade.

Don’t worry, Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau aren’t going anywhere, for now anyway.

A Yankee Fan Re-Writes The Ending to Fever Pitch

In a great baseball movie that had to warm the hearts of all Boston Red Sox fans, Jimmy Fallon played the role of an insane Boston Red Sox fan whose life revolved around the season tickets he had inherited from his uncle.

Fallon’s character was a math teacher who fell in love with Drew Barrymore, a yuppie executive climbing the ladder in her company who was barely conversant about baseball.

Johnny Damon: Daily Random Sports Thoughts 11

Welcome to the 11th edition of "Daily Random Sports Thoughts!"

For those not familiar, I pick a team, player, or any other topic in sports that I have five random thoughts about. I'm trying to get an article on here every day.

Today's lucky random sports topic is—Johnny Damon.

1) Congrats on finally signing with a team! It's a shame you didn't come back to the Yankees, with that great "lefty-pull" park, but congrats on becoming the newest Tiger!

Phillies' Jayson Werth: What's Behind All That Hair?

With all apologies, I am not Flattish Poe, or do not want to dis her man, but will offer some suggestions to what is behind Jayson Werth's beard.

Werth, who is in the last year of his contract and may seek $16 million a year to parade around right field, came into spring training Monday sporting a big beard.

I can speculate a few reasons why the beard appeared, the repercussions of said facial hair, and how this might end for the talented right fielder.

What do expect from a multi-talented player who hit 36 home runs, drove in 99 RBI and stole 20 bases last season?

Daily Random Sports Thoughts 10: What The Heck Is Going On With Joba???

For those who like and enjoy, sorry. Been busy lately, haven't had much free time for B/R. For all those trolls who like to rip on me, we're back!

Welcome to the 10th edition of "Daily Random Sports Thoughts!"

For those not familiar, I pick a team, player, or any other topic in sports that I have five random thoughts about.  If you like 'em, read 'em.  I'm trying to get 'em on here every day!

Today's lucky random sports topic is...what the heck is going on with Joba Chamberlain???

Johnny...Be Good: Johnny Damon Signs With Detroit Tigers

Well, the prick finally signed.

Good News: We finally have a left handed batter and a guy that can lead off.

Bad News: We're paying this clown $8 million, around $4 million more than the next highest reported offer. And there's a no trade clause. Ugh.

Good News: Damon put up excellent numbers last year.

Bad News: He played in that bandbox in New York where most of his homers were hit.

Ben Sheets Injured In Spring Training Already [Satire]

In a stunning turn of events, Athletic's pitcher Ben Sheets has already managed to find a way to injure himself. Ben Sheets was ecstatic about joining his new ball-club and getting things started in Spring Training. He was hoping to get off on the right foot, but he literally didn't.

Brett Gardner Daily Update No. 14

Joe Girardi sat down for his first full blown press conference at the New York Yankee Spring Training facility in Tampa today, one day before all pitchers and catchers are to report for the start of the new season.

"First of all guys, let me just say, that because my time is limited to about 90 minutes for this press conference, I am only going to be taking questions on Brett Gardner and issues related to Gardy. So confine your questions to those areas, please."

Daily Random Sports Thoughts 9: Dustin Pedroia

Welcome to the ninth edition of "Daily Random Sports Thoughts!"

For those not familiar, I pick a team, player, or any other topic in sports that I have five random thoughts about.  If you like 'em, read 'em.  I'm trying to get 'em on here every day!

Today's lucky random sports topic is...Dustin Pedroia!

1) How tall are you? And please, give me the truth. I've heard people say that you're 5' 9'', others say 5' 5'', and some claim that you are three-and-a-half feet tall. What's the real thing?
