The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will welcome Red Sox star, and 2001 Spinner, Kevin Youkilis back to Lowell for the Eighth Annual Lowell Spinners Alumni Dinner, Tuesday, December 29 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in downtown Lowell.

My Baseball Christmas List

What do I want for Christmas? A million bucks in small bills. I realize that is not going to show up under my tree, so let me think again.

Oh yeah, how about a baseball style wish list? Yes, that's it!

First, I would like to see Roy Halladay end up with the Cincinnati Reds this offseason. It probably won't happen, but I didn't think I was going to get that "Fanner 50" toy pistol when I was a kid, either.

Hey Grady, Pass the Coffee: Folgers Suing Sizemore for Nude Pics (Satire)

Folgers Coffee is suing Grady Sizemore for taking racy photos with the product under no contract with the company.

"If he's going to take pictures, nude or not, with our product then we want to make some marketing points with that," a Folgers CEO said.  "We want his sweet ass to make us some money...wait, don't quote that."

Here's what the show would look like if it were cast with Major League Baseball players.

Jeremy Affeldt: The Tenth Best Player In The National League?

"Really?"

These were the first words out of my mouth when I read the voting results for the National League MVP.

Somebody thinks that Jeremy Affeldt is the tenth best player in the National League. This is what I knew:

The Evolution of the Greatest Mane in Sports: The Story of Tim Lincecum

November 19th marked an important turning point in not only Tim Lincecum's baseball career, but his life as well. The 25 year old ace of the San Francisco Giants won his second NL Cy Young in as many years, becoming the first pitcher in Major League Baseball history to win back to back Cy Youngs in his first two major league seasons.

The Fall Of The Republic: NL Cy Young Voting Shows BBWAA's Incompetence

From Plato to Voltaire, the Republic has been the government of choice for intellectuals for millennia.

Dismissive of people’s ability to rule themselves, yet similarly wary of totalitarianism, they champion a government run exclusively by the most enlightened members of society.

Albert Pujols Wins NL Cy Young Award (Satire)

The Baseball Writers Association of America has selected St. Louis Cardinals’ first baseman Albert Pujols as the 2009 National League Cy Young Award winner, according to a press release from Major League Baseball.

“This is an incredible honor,” said Pujols, who has not pitched a single inning in his illustrious 10-year professional career. “I am truly humbled.”
